About us

Ormeau Pétanque Club is a friendly, welcoming Club. We enjoy the game of pétanque, (French boules) in the relaxed setting of the Ormeau Park (beside the Tennis Centre).

The Club is affiliated to the Irish Pétanque Association and members are eligible to enter IPA sponsored competitions.

The Club originated when a group of friends got together to play pétanque wherever they could find a space. Later, courtesy of Belfast City Council, dedicated pistes (playing areas) were built at Ormeau Park and twice-weekly Club sessions run all year round.

Pétanque is suitable for all ages and abilities and provides opportunity for fresh air and light exercise. We play all year round, weather permitting.
